Using Wearable Tech To Live Healthier

Posted on March 29, 2014

Gadgets, clothing, websites, social media have all transformed the way we we live our lives, especially in the way we workout. Wearable technology will only continue to become more popular for living healthier. The prediction is that there will be more than 250 million such devices in the next three years.

This space has certainly heated up in the past few years with plenty of different options being brought to the market. Gadgets such as the Fitbit, Nike Fuel, Shine have all had a huge impact in the wearable tech space. These gadgets have made it possible for many people to track their daily activities and live healthier lives.

Today I want to talk about my favorite one of these gadgets: Shine by Misfit Wearables. Shine is one of the most elegant gadgets I’ve ever seen. It’s clear from the second you remove it from the box that design was a priority in creating this device. The bracelet and tracker are easy to set up and look amazing on the arm.

As seen on Forbes, Mashable,

For Android users the app is quite basic. It shows you steps taken, calories and sleep. If you’re an iOS user you can see all of that info, plus your friends’ activities. Hopefully the Android app will be updated soon to match the iOS app.

To sync the device all you need to do is turn on your Bluetooth. It takes just a few seconds and right away you can see all of your information. Overall it’s an elegant and simple device that really improves your day to day life. Once you start using it, it’s hard to go to sleep without walking atleast 10,000 steps.

For anyone interested, the device is available here.
